When American Motors Corp Initially Introduced The Amx, It Was At The Daytona International Speedway In February 1968. Then A Week Later, It Was On Display At The Chicago Automobile Show. The Model Designation Stood For American Motors Experimental. Built Off A 97-inch Wheelbase, It Looked Like A Short Javelin With Louvered Hood Bulges And A Non-divided Grille Treatment.
