With five employees who have over 60 years of combined experience dealing mainly in collision repair and auto refinishing, this crew knows what it takes to get the job done. And do it right. Most drivers on the road today have no idea what the process is when it comes to accidents and getting our daily drivers back on the road. What do I do first? The insurance company says I have to take it here, do I have a choice? Motorists always have a choice. This is where Performance Paint & Body comes in. With the know-how of what makes insurance companies work, and how to get your vehicle back to its pre-accident condition they are the body shop to trust. Co-Owner, Lance Warne, mentions that the process of repairing vehicles is his favorite part of what he does. “I love having a really tough project and then at the end of the repair seeing how the vehicle looks like new is a great feeling.”

Warne and Warne opened Performance Paint & Body after working together at another auto body shop. They decided they could work for themselves and do what they love along with helping more motorists get quality craftsmanship on their vehicles. And they ensure the project is done correctly. “Unlike most body shops where there’s an owner, a manager, a shop manager, and technicians, we have our technicians and then us. Chad and I help with every project, but each technician works from start to finish on a project along with our help. Having us in the shop doing the work right alongside our technicians means we can see when a mistake comes up, or the technicians can ask us for help. We want customers to know their repair is getting done right.”

Although this team usually handles the daily driver collision repair projects, every now and then a restoration project comes in that they are able to complete. “Restoration projects are very time-consuming, as you want to complete them correctly. We only handle one or two a year, just to be sure we are putting the right amount of time into the cars and they end up looking the way the owner expected.” Even restorations aren’t the only projects that come out of Performance Paint & Body. “We also handle semi repairs and painting projects. We have the room and the experience in dealing with repaints and collisions of the larger rigs as well.” In fact, this portion of their business is quickly growing. An expansion is planned for their current building for more space to handle these mammoths of the road.

With the ever growing technologies that become available in this industry, Performance Paint & Body has made sure to be on top of changes. “Our staff continues education in the automotive industry to provide you with the most cutting edge automotive equipment and refinishing processes available. The formulas of paint change, the way manufacturers make vehicles change, and we keep up with these things. If you’re in this industry you have to, because you never know what you’re going to come up against.” Performance Paint & Body currently uses Standox brand paint and refinishing materials. “We know what our end result will be, and they haven’t steered us wrong yet.”

The location of Performance Paint & Body is perfect. Directly off the interstate at the Baltic exit makes it hard to miss. It’s also very convenient for the larger vehicles to get to without having the pesky traffic to deal with. Being close to Sioux Falls is also a major plus for this business. “We are just close enough to Sioux Falls that it isn’t a pain for customers to get to, and just far enough away that we are easy to find. We have customers that bring us their vehicles from Madison to Sioux Falls and all the small towns in between.”
