Clark County Riders
By Buck Lovell
Clark County Rider Motorcycle Club is a family-oriented motorcycle club and a non-profit organization. The members enjoy all motorcycle related activities, but are also passionate about giving back to those in need. CCRMC raises money for the relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged by cooperating with local charities and other organizations in the South Dakota tradition. A portion of the proceeds from CCRMC events go to local charities.
CCRMC was founded when six Sailors and an Airman from the Bradley, SD area got out of the service and wanted to form a motorcycle club. After contacting their friends and neighbors, 13 Charter members formed the Clark County Riders Motorcycle Club in the year 1981. The club has grown over the years and now has over 40 members living all over South Dakota (and one in North Dakota). Clark County Riders are mostly Harley-Davidson owners, but all two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles are welcome regardless of brand name. Clark County is located in northeast South Dakota, 30 miles west
of Watertown.
Get your riding gear on, because every year Clark County Riders Motorcycle Club organizes a weekend run, including a poker run fundraiser that is more fun than you can shake a stick at! The 35th annual event will take place at the Clark County Fairgrounds from June 23-June 25. All – motorcycle riders or not – are welcome. The Ron Keel Band will provide rockin’ raucous music in the bike tradition starting at 9:00 PM on Saturday night. Other activities include an organized “somebody’s gotta win” poker run sponsored by A&A Cycle, traditional biker games that will be a bucket of fun to even the experienced rider, a full bar, vendors, tattooists, a Dyno on site, and access to the hospitality of the citizens and merchants of the city of Clark.
Advanced tickets for the event are $35. Pay at the gate for $25 (1 day) or $40 (2 days). Tents are free, and primitive RV camping is just $10 per night (no hookups). Please...no pets, no weapons, and you must be at least 21. Come one, come all and have some fun! TOR
